About Us.
As fifth-generation commercial beef and sheep farmers, our family's legacy is deeply rooted in the agricultural landscape. Over the years, our commitment to the land and livestock has not only sustained a livelihood but also fostered a profound connection to the rural way of life. The farm, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, stands as a testament to the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment.
A unique facet of our family's history is the longstanding tradition of breeding Labradors and training gun dogs along with managing working sheep dogs that provide invaluable assistance in managing livestock. This adds a dynamic layer to the farming lifestyle, showcasing a versatile skill set that extends beyond traditional agricultural practices. The role of these well-trained dogs goes beyond companionship; they contribute to the functionality of the farm, aiding in tasks such as herding livestock and maintaining the overall efficiency of daily operations.
Presently, Grange Farm is a thriving commercial beef and sheep enterprise, led by Thomas Garlick as he steers the business forward. Our family includes two lovely daughters and four charming dogs. As for myself, Helen Garlick, after years of extensive global travel in Buying and Product Development, I have decided to establish roots on the Fylde coast. Witnessing the temperament changes in many friends' dogs due to unfavourable day care experiences inspired me to transform my passion into a profession. This led to the conception of Dow Brook, a Canine Country Club envisioned as a serene, tranquil, caring, and exclusive haven where we would confidently entrust our dogs.
